- How can I join CCLI?
You can join CCLI as a writer or publisher by signing a CCLI Owner Agreement for each Licence programme in which you would like to include your works. The Owner Agreements are the contracts authorizing CCLI to represent your works through the Licences offered by CCLI. To obtain CCLI Owner Agreements, please e-mail your request to copyright@ccli.co.uk.
For entry into CCLI's Licence programmes, these Agreements plus all requested information needs to be returned to CCLI.
- Is there a fee for joining?
At present there is no charge for registering your songs and publications with us. The contract we send you will give further information on the simple royalty structure we operate.
- What do I need to provide CCLI?
You need to sign and return the contracts along with a Catalogue and composition list, the full details of ownership percentages for the each song, and one copy of each song. Full details of what is needed will be enclosed with the information we send you.
- Do the songs have to be printed arrangements?
No, a lyric sheet will do. However, a chord chart, leadsheet or arrangement is better.
- How about a recording of the songs?
If you have a recording of the songs we would like to have a copy of the recording. However, if no recording exists you do not have to make one for us.
- How often are royalties paid?
Semi-annually (Feb 15 and Aug 15).
- Does CCLI promote or distribute music?
No, we are not involved in the promotion, marketing or distribution of music.
- Do I retain all rights to my songs?
Yes, ownership of the songs and all rights associated with the copyright holder remain with you. Signing the CCLI Owner Agreements just allows CCLI to include your works in its Licence programmes.
- How does this affect a membership with PRS or MCPS?
It doesn't. Both these organisations represent you with a different licensable right. If you are a member of either of these organisations we recommend you remain so.
If you have any more questions about other CCLI licence programmes, please contact Claire Price CCLI's European Copyright Manager on +44 (0) 1323 436106 or Email to copyright@ccli.co.uk.
