He Saved Us To Show Us His Glory
This is an article about my church worship team and how we've taken worship outside our church walls and to the nations.
How I Write

I believe the most honest and most helpful method of teaching I can offer … is to simply describe the process I use in writing a worship song. So, let's get started with a few examples of how songs come to me.

Learn How To Let God Bless You

The Westminster Confession says that the chief end of man is to worship God and enjoy Him forever. I love this old truth but I think John Piper says it in an even greater way. He says, "Worship God by enjoying Him forever." Through many years of leading worship in nearly every kind of situation, I've discovered a secret that helps me every time I use it. It's learning how to let God bless me!

My Story [as a songwriter]

I've been writing songs since I was eleven years old. As I have always loved the creative process, songwriting has been a very natural part of my life. Not natural in the sense that every song I've written has been good, but natural in that songwriting has been a very fulfilling way to express love and worship to my God. In fact, I had been writing songs for over fifteen years before I had any measure of what the world would consider success.

Songs from Heaven

I believe that almost everyone has the gift of song in them. I don't mean that everyone is capable of writing a song that a large audience will want to hear. Some people might be able to create only a simple melody expressing a single thought. It might be a song sung alone in the shower.
